GISME Student Fellowship Program

The GISME Student Fellowship Program selects up to 8 student fellows each year who have an interest in deepening their understanding of the moral foundations of markets, the social context of business, and topics at the intersection of philosophy, politics, and economics.

Program Overview

Fellows gain hands-on experience with research, events, and policy debates while building connections with business leaders and scholars. Each fellow receives a $1,000 stipend and works closely with GISME faculty on projects that explore business ethics and the role of markets in society.

Fellowship Components:

  • Business Leader Dinner Series: Each fellow will organize a small group dinner with a business leader and 6-12 students and be responsible for invitations, logistics, and a post dinner summary of the conversation.
  • GISME Friday Paper Workshops: Each fellow will participate in at least one of GISME’s Friday lunch workshops at which scholars present ongoing research in business ethics and related fields.
  • Annual GISME Conferences: Fellows will be invited to participate in annual conferences that GISME organizes on topics related to business, law, ethics, and politics.
  • Research Collaboration with GISME Scholars: Fellows are invited to serve as research assistants for GISME faculty on projects of mutual interest.
