Is Paid Plasma Crowding Out Voluntary Blood Donations? Understanding who donates and why.

No significant evidence of crowding out, although individual effects do vary across cities.

Overall, however, plasma collections are associated with a small, but positive increase in blood donations, ranging from 80-100 additional blood donations per 1,000 additional plasma donations.
